OUR MISSION: ENERGY INDEPENDENCE FOR EVERYONE

Modern life depends on electricity — yet most of us feel powerless to control it.

When the power goes out, everything stops. Food spoils. Work halts. Homes go dark. These moments remind us how fragile the system really is.

We’ve been told energy resilience is complicated, expensive, or only accessible to a few.

At Pila, we believe energy should be intelligent and quietly dependable. It should adapt to how and where you live. It should work in the background, integrate seamlessly into your home, and give you confidence instead of anxiety.

Pila is a new kind of home energy system.

Modular, self-installable, and designed to protect where you need power most.

Pila delivers backup power and smarter energy control without complexity or compromise.

We believe our grid requires a sum greater than its parts.

As batteries become ubiquitous, intelligence moves to the edge, and energy independence becomes an expectation — our power system itself is changing.

Our power grid is evolving from a few centralized assets into billions of intelligent nodes. Pila is building this future.

By distributing intelligence and storage across homes and small businesses, Pila helps modernize the grid from the bottom up — strengthening communities, reducing strain during peak demand, and making resilience accessible to everyone.

We’re building a new way to understand and control your power.

A NOTE FROM PILA'S FOUNDER

You never forget the smell of a rotten fridge.

20 years ago Hurricane Katrina slammed into my hometown of New Orleans. The devastation was unimaginable. But one image burned into my memory above all: Thousands of discarded refrigerators piled on curbs across the city….

OUR VALUES

Care for
the Work

We care deeply not just about how things function, but how they fit into people’s lives and the world around them.

Momentum
With Intention

We move decisively without chasing chaos — prioritizing clear decisions and real progress over noise.

Enduring
Impact

We build things meant to endure — earning trust over time and contributing to a more resilient future.

WHAT’S IN A NAME

Pila (that’s ‘peel-uh’)

In 1880, Italian physicist Alessandro Volta built the world’s first electrochemical battery — the Pila di Volta, or voltaic pile.

Inspired by nature’s own electrical engineers, he stacked metal plates to mimic the organs inside electric eels, transforming a wild phenomenon into a scientific breakthrough.

Like Volta, we’re reimagining energy storage with the physical world as our guide — building a smarter, more adaptable energy system designed to bring peace of mind, control, and energy savings to every home.
