Pila September 2025 Update

🔋 Charging ahead!

It’s been an exciting stretch at Pila this past month — things are moving fast! From early beta testing and rigorous field trials to our manufacturing ramp, every part of the system is being refined to meet the highest standards of safety, durability, and performance. Our goal: a product that not only works beautifully on day one, but for years to come.

We’re expecting the first Pila batteries will begin rolling out in towards the end of this year as part of our early beta testing wave — with broader customer deliveries ramping up rapidly through early 2026 as we expand manufacturing capacity. For those with Early Access Reservations, keep an eye out for an upcoming email from our team with next steps — including details about your order and the 2025 Federal Tax Credit opportunity!

Along the way, we’ve also been sharing behind-the-scenes progress, podcast conversations, and pilot updates — so you can see how Pila is coming to life in the real world.

🗽 DERVOS here we come!

See you in NYC on Oct. 17th!

We’re heading to DERVOS this Friday to join “Plug-in DERs Don’t Need Your Permission,” a panel on how frictionless, permissionless deployment is reshaping the grid from the bottom up — the same vision behind Pila’s plug-and-play batteries.

Come meet the team, see Pila in action, and connect with fellow energy builders as we explore what’s next for distributed power.

🎧 Pila on the Things Have Changed Podcast

When the power goes out, resilience shouldn’t be a luxury. On this recent Things Have Changed, Pila founder Cole Ashman joins the hosts to talk about how growing up through Hurricane Katrina shaped his mission — and how Pila is making backup power accessible to everyone. From aging grids to AI-driven demand, the conversation dives into why traditional systems leave so many behind and how plug-and-play batteries like Pila can scale resilience from the ground up.

👉 Listen now to hear why we believe energy independence should be a right, not a privilege.
